Effective date: May 3, 2026
FastDevTools is built around a simple promise: your data stays on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what little we do collect, what we do not, and the choices you have.
Summary
- Every tool runs entirely in your browser. The text you paste, generate, encode, decode, or hash is processed client-side and never sent to a server we control.
- We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, fingerprinting scripts, or third-party analytics that profile you.
- We do not require an account, and we do not ask for personal information to use the tools.
What we collect
Tool input
Nothing. Inputs to tools — JSON, JWTs, regex, passwords, snippets, etc. — are processed locally in your browser using vanilla JavaScript and the Web Crypto API. They are not transmitted to our servers and never leave your device.
Server logs
When you load a page, our hosting provider may automatically record standard request metadata: your IP address, the URL requested, your User-Agent string, the referrer, and a timestamp. These logs exist for security, abuse prevention, and basic operational diagnostics. They are retained for a short period and are not used to build a profile of you.
Account data (admin only)
The administrative console requires an account. If you have one, we store your name, email address, a salted hash of your password, and timestamps. Regular visitors do not have or need an account.
Cookies
We set a session cookie only when you sign in to the admin console. The public site does not set tracking or marketing cookies.
Tools that talk to the network
A few tools must contact a third-party service to do their job. In every case, the request is made directly from your browser to the third party — we never see it or the response.
- IP Finder calls ipify.org to discover your public IP.
- DNS Lookup uses Cloudflare\'s public DNS-over-HTTPS endpoint at 1.1.1.1.
- HTTP Headers Checker and API Request Tester make requests to URLs you provide.
Those services have their own privacy policies that apply to those requests. Network-dependent tools are clearly labelled.
Children
FastDevTools is a general-purpose developer utility. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change how we handle data, we will update the effective date above and, if appropriate, post a notice on the site. Continued use of FastDevTools after a change means you accept the updated policy.
